Sydney Marchant
Community Engagement Assistant
Sydney Marchant is the Community Engagement Assistant at Capital Humane Society. Originally from Stillwater, Minnesota, Sydney found her way to Nebraska as a student athlete playing soccer for UNL. In 2022, Sydney applied to walk dogs at CHS in her free time and found a true passion for the wild world of Animal Welfare. In 2023, Sydney expanded her involvement in the organization assisting with prep and execution of every major fundraising event and donating over 750 hours of service in the process.
After graduating from UNL with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Sydney accepted the Community Engagement Assistant position at CHS. In her current role, Sydney assists the Director of Community Engagement in onboarding and training volunteers, presenting Humane Education Programs, and attending community outreach events. She is passionate about educating individuals of all ages about what Humane Education is and how they can become involved.
In her free time, Sydney enjoys outdoor activities, training her dog, and watching sports games. Sydney has 3 pets at home Archie (CHS alum), Ari (MN Humane alum), and Daisy (CHS alum). Sydney and Daisy are a therapy dog team and frequently visit residents at care facilities and students in schools.
