Choosing to adopt a homeless pet from the Capital Humane Society is a kind act. We appreciate your support and willingness to offer a lifetime of love to an animal in need.
All Dogs and Cats entering the adoption program receive a health exam by the shelter veterinarian; are spayed or neutered; receive treatment for fleas, ticks, intestinal worms or mites; are tested for Heartworm or Feline Leukemia; receive a first or booster set of vaccinations; are Micro-chipped.
The cost of Adopting a Dog or Cat is $119.02:
Adoption fee: $85.00
Rabies deposit: $10.00
City License fee:$17.00
Collar: $ 1.00
Tax: $ 6.02
If the dog or cat is current on rabies vaccination, the deposit fee is waived.
No license fee is charged to those living outside the city of Lincoln.

If you are planning to adopt a new friend from the Capital Humane Society, we would invite you to complete the Adoption Application prior to visiting the shelter. By bringing the completed application with you, the adoption process will take less time, therefore giving you more time to spend with your new friend and family member.
